How do I finance all this?!

Here's what I do...

Lovely people, maybe you noticed it got somewhat q Lovely people, maybe you noticed it got somewhat quiet lately over here. Since one week I’m in Czech Republic and like it unexpectedly very much (especially the more rural south, Prague was great but enough after a few days). Saturday I’ll head to Slovakia, where I’ll work on a goat farm for a few weeks 🤩
.
Fact is however, that I’m simply tired of social media. I don’t want to take out my phone all the time thinking of the cool stories I could upload. In the end I would see more of the country through my screen than for real 🤨
.
In the last months, I became part of an incredibly supportive and inspiring community, which I naturally still want to be. Get in touch if you feel like catching up or think our paths might cross. But generally it’ll stay more quiet on this account for now 😌 In detail travel tales will however eventually come anyway! And maybe that occasional goat selfie.

“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.” – Frank Herbert

Here’s to a self-timed fearless moment, my first wild camping night in the van three weeks ago 🚐☀️

I just love how photography enables me to hold on to a moment otherwise gone forever, to see it again and again, to discover a new detail after months of not noticing it, to smile over almost forgotten memories of small happy moments 📷
Today I want to tell you about one of my favorite Today I want to tell you about one of my favorite psychological theories. It’s called the fundamental attribution error 🤓
.
Attribution in this case generally refers to how we explain a behavior of someone. This can be internal (due to personality traits for example) or external (due to situational factors).
.
Now the thing with the error is - with ourselves, we’re naturally experts at rationalizing our own unusual behavior along with our present environment. You only were grumpy to the coffee guy because you missed your train and stepped in a giant puddle earlier - not because you’re always bad-tempered.
However, with other people we observe, we’re very quick to attribute every behavior to a characteristic trait of this person - especially when the behavior is negative. Someone cutting the line? Must be a total jerk without any friends! Who knew his child was at home sick waiting for his return with some fresh groceries. And that guy with ripped jeans and all the tattoos looking like he means mischief? Maybe he had a long day in the theater where he’s a talented actor, now tired and simply waiting for his bus.
.
People can hold a lot of contrasts within themselves, and we need to give them a chance and the time to express all of them, before doing quick judgements.
.
Personally, I love pink dresses and flowers in my hair and singing girly songs and from time to time being hopelessly romantic. But I also like getting sweaty and dirty, don’t mind all the cuts and bruises I get from doing physical work, can lift comparably heavy and am not afraid to challenge myself with big dreams.
.
Don’t put someone in a drawer after you see just one side in a brief encounter - keep on wondering, stay curious 🙃 Apply your ways of attributing your own behavior to others, too. There’s so much more in the whole picture of someone than we are used to assume 💁🏼‍♀️
Yo folks, thought I’d finally give you some Engl Yo folks, thought I’d finally give you some English updates on my van! It’s challenging, frustrating, but most of all so rewarding so see the progress, to see this entire thing coming together with nothing but my own hands 😌 And the rest - see for yourself 🚐 For all the updates, check out @frauunterwegs!

Do you keep any childhood and youth memories, some Do you keep any childhood and youth memories, somewhere stowed away in dusty boxes, in the far corners of your parents basement maybe?
.
That’s how it is for me; considering how many times I moved and lived abroad in the last few years, I never got to fully throw anything out... But since I’m currently home for a few weeks to build my van, and want to top up my budget by selling old stuff, I basically unpacked my entire past today.
.
There were countless letters from childhood pen pals, love letters from my previous boyfriends, poems I wrote and pictures I painted, gifts from almost forgotten friends, high heels I only wore once or twice, soft toys, my favorite books when I was 12, and admittedly a lot of nostalgic trash 😌
.
But I do feel like I re-discovered a part of myself that I kinda forgot existed in the past... And now I’m happy to close those chapters, keeping the most precious memories and getting rid of all the plenty, plenty rest. The more I travel, the more I feel material possessions rather weighing me down instead of enriching me. (Says the one who just bought a giant car, I know...) Cheers to minimalism 🥂

You know what’s the funny thing about productivi You know what’s the funny thing about productivity? When you’re lacking it, it’s dreadful and you got no clue how to get going. But once you’re rocking it again, things are flowing from your fingers and you wonder how the hell you didn’t recognize the necessary steps before.
.
Here’s a shoutout to celebrate yourself for whatever you got done today - whether you finished that paper, emptied your inbox or finally allowed yourself a sunny Sunday off. The best time is always now 🙃

Some days pass by in what feels like time on too m Some days pass by in what feels like time on too much caffeine; you perceive life solely in this addictive shade of pink, can’t help to smile feeling the wind in your hair.
.
Other days seem to just stay stuck in bed, never fully getting started; every movement, every decision and every polite “no thank you” become an infinite effort.
.
While your illuminated smartphone and your wrist watch and the huge train station’s clock try to tell you, it’s all the same. It’s a funny thing, time, isn’t it?
.
Making good use of it - a few days offline ahead 😌
